Ups and Downs

So last week I lost 6.5 lbs and this week I seem to have gained it all back! Yeah, I was pissed at first. But you know what? I haven’t cheated and maybe I didn’t drink enough water… Though the real issue is likely that I am in freakin’ pain still with sore feet. My ankles and feet are still really swollen. I’m likely retaining water due to the inflammation.

Plantar fasciitis is a total nightmare for people who have to stand all day at work. I got inserts that cost some $600 a few years ago and they helped then making things tolerable for a 24 hour hour work week (or less). After a job where I didn’t have to stand all day and trying to go back to it… no way! Not going to happen. NO one should have to suffer this kind of insane pain. [Read more...]

Sleep must be over-rated

Couldn’t sleep until about 3:45am last night, up again at 5:30am. Back to bed at 8am, up again at noon. Tired again at 2pm. I *HATE* this freaking sleeping problem. I’m wiped. Exhasted. Last night I had vertigo and felt nauseous for a while. I’m so fuzzy headed I’m just good for nothing at all.

I’ll “try” to stay awake the whole day even if I didn’t sleep the night before. Not. Going. To. Happen. IF I can sleep, I’m going to sleep.

NOT happy about it. Going to try to get more sleep, again.

Lousy sleep again

The last few weeks have been great for me. Lost 10 lbs or so, great sleep – getting 8 hours a night. And then, the last 3-4 days I’ve been back to the same old, same old. Sleep 3-4 hours, up again. Nap for a few hours, up again. Up all the next day and into the wee hours. Sleep 4-6 hours and back awake, again. It drives me batty. I get bitchy and irritable – and no wonder!

Yes, I have sleep apnea. Yes, I comply with my CPAP machine prescription. But even so, this is a freaking lousy cycle I’d like to kick once and for all. It’s the same all the time. I have weeks of joyful, restful sleep. Then I have days of insomnia followed by a week or so of can’t sleep enough. [Read more...]
