Still losing!

Weight that is. I’ve lost 24 lbs since April 14, 2010. I’ve lost around 50lbs all-told by now. And at least 2 dress sizes. It’s been several weeks since my clothes started really feeling baggy and waaaay too big. Some shirts I have now feel so huge I won’t even wear them anymore. And my favorite pair of jeans is in desperate need of a belt. Which won’t happen because belts just aren’t my thing.

So with my first pay on the new job, I was able to buy a few new pairs of pants and some shirts last week. I was pleasantly amazed at how much I’ve really lost. Had to go down 2 sizes in most cases when trying things on. It was a great feeling, if fleeting. I still have issue with the styles and cuts of clothing for fat women. The clothing styles seem so OLD if you get my meaning. Florals that suit gramma, not a 30 or 40 something woman.

But that’s not new, is it? Those of us with more curves have long since had problems finding appropriate clothing. Age appropriate even. I have often yearned to be skinny just so I can wear “real” clothing. Clothes that are pretty and fashionable. Styles that I actually like. Frankly, I”m pretty damn tired of only being able to shop at Penningtons :P Though at least that store is somewhat in my price range!

Anyway, UWL is still working for me and I’m feeling great! Still quite a ways to go, but 50lbs is doing OK!

Oh yeah, if I didn’t mention it already… I have a new new job. The one standing on my feet for 8 hours a day was so not going to continue happening for me. So now I’m working for a major Internet provider in a call center environment. Full time with benefits is good! Hard to find these days.

New Job, more exercise

So I finally became re-employed. Thank GAWD! Ei ran out last week. The timing is good. I’m back at a Shopper’s Drug Mart, hired on as part-time supervisor. Hoping to pick up more hours at another store after I get back into the swing of things and over the initial pain threshold of being back at work and on my feet 8 hours a day. My feet are already crying lol

Only lost another lousy pound last week but I suspect I’m not drinking as much water as I think I am. So going to keep an eye on that for next week. Well, except that now that I’am working again I’m doing a lot more exercise than I was. It’s sure to improve the weight loss (of course it will). As a supervisor of the store I’m doing a whole lot of walking to and fro… in a much bigger store than I was used to, too.

Came home with a huge bottle of epsom salts and had a long soak right after work. I’m hoping to lessen the muscle pain and swollen feet I’m sure to have. But it’ll pass when I get used to things again. But damn, a 40 hour week to start with. Ouch! I’m going to be a hurting unit. The hours are just for the next week or so, it’ll be 24 or so hours per week after that.

Ah well, it’s a paycheque, right?! It’s all good.
